How to Read a Build

Genshin Impact damage is built from three layers: the weapon (base stats + passive), the artifact set (4-piece or 2+2 bonuses) and the main-stats on each piece (Sands / Goblet / Circlet). The Goblet should almost always carry your character's elemental Damage Bonus, while Sands and Circlet balance the largest available multipliers — usually ATK%, Crit Rate and Crit DMG. Substats then refine those same axes.

Element decides the reaction layer: Anemo spreads Swirl, Hydro enables Vaporize/Freeze, Pyro pairs with Hydro or Cryo for big amplifications, Cryo locks with Freeze, Electro triggers Charged/Superconduct, Dendro drives Bloom/Spread/Aggravate and Geo adds Crystallize shielding. Match the weapon class to the character's attack pattern, then fill the team with a second damage type plus healing or shielding.
